Florence Bosco, CEO Akima pharmaceuticals
Fascinated by what creates affinity between atoms to form molecules and between people to form successful projects, Florence studied chemical process engineering and joined the bio-pharmaceutical industry by the age of 22. During the first years of her professional life as R&D Engineer and Product Developer, she discovered that bringing people together around projects to reach the right competence diversity was key to making things happen. She understood that recognizing everyone’s contribution, spirit of freedom and genuine belonging to the group were the most powerful motors for organizations. When she turned 29, she became a freelance innovation leader under management company 53 people. She led several collaborative innovation projects, including one with the three academic hospitals of Brussels, before taking the position of CEO of Brussels South Charleroi BioPark, a major European biotech hub, and subsequently of Akina Pharmaceuticals, an impact drug development biotech startup with the mission of developing cancer medicines for all.
